House Sparrows

A Black TitMany familiar bird species are becoming rare sights in Britain. Land use, farming practices,  house design as well as rising A Skylarkpollution  have contributed to the fall. More than a third of UK bird species are in decline.  The house sparrow has seen the population crash in England.  But numbers are increasing in Wales. The great tit is a common sight around houses. Human feeding  over the winter is believed to be helping. Certain species are getting so rare that they could soon disappear altogether, e.g. the skylark.
